‘2nd Gulf Iron & Steel Conference' is being organized alongside the mega
exhibitions 'Steel Tech - Middle East' & 'SteelFab' and will attract the key
executives in the region. The conference will discuss the prime issues
facing the iron & steel industry in gulf region. It will also address itself
to the technologies and practices employed at various stages of steel
manufacturing. The technology providers, equipment manufacturers, raw
material suppliers, trading houses will also participate in this August
gathering to make this interaction more meaningful and complete.
Today, the steel demand of the gulf region is met partly by indigenous
supply and partly by imports. As the steel making capacity of a region
grows, the import component automatically comes down. Will there be extra
generation of demand to support imports ? What will be the demand supply
scenario of the gulf region by 2012?
The viability, longitivity & growth of any manufacturing based business
largely depends on technology. Technology can be the strongest driver of
cost competitiveness and can provide the required cutting edge to overcome
the competition. What is the right technology for a particular product? How
local conditions affect the selection of technology? How much should be the
'cost of technology'?
Raw Materials supply and costing has always been of prime importance to
steel manufacturers. The technology and the process parameters also undergo
a lot of changes as per the availability of raw materials in that particular
region. What is the short term and long term perspective of key raw
materials in the gulf region?
These and many other prime issues, country profiles, success stories,
technology updates will make '2nd Gulf Iron & steel Conference' meaningful,
informative and thus IMPORTANT !! |
